- President Marshall goes to try and help peace talks. 45 days of peace talks between Mao and Chaing Kai-shek, they make an agreement- leave the room & go back to fighting :(

- The GMD had "islands" (They had control of large cities, but the CCP controlled all the rural areas

Civil War Ends
- CCP continued to conquer land
- insists on strict army discipline
- Economic policies to stop hyperinflation
- Chaing leaves for Thai Wan
- Zhou Enlai- threw Mao his support in conference, Mao started to come forward as a leader in the party
- Zhu De - Military Commander, reputation as a bit of a "softer" leader than Mao
- Liu Shaoqi- Leader of some army i think?
